Challenges - Piracy

  • How big a problem is software piracy in Indonesia?
  • According to the IDC study in last May, 87% of the software installed in Indonesia were pirated - the third highest in the world in terms of software piracy. It is estimated that a further decrease of piracy rate from 87% to 77% in Indonesia in four years could add USD3.4billion to its economy and create more than 3,000 high-wage, high-tech jobs as well as USD153million in tax revenues in four years.
